Domain Market
Known as the "New Real Estate" domain investing has become very
lucrative. To be
successful, you have to do your research and be willing to invest a
considerable
amount of time learning what really works.
What is Domain Investing
Buying a name to resell
This was the most popular form of investing for many years. The
process was fairly
simple, look for a good new name, buy it and hopefully some wealthy
buyer will come
along and offer you a lot of money for the domain. A popular
strategy, but with the
public awareness increasing on domain value, many of the strong
names are already
gone and its getting much harder to build a portfolio of good names.
Buying domain on the Aftermarket
This has been the growing trend in recent years. Investors
have different methods of
making a return on their investment that looks something like this:
1) Find a popular name that someone is trying to sell
2) Search list of expiring/expired names
3) Work with a domain broker
Buying to develop
This is my personal choice and I believe has the best potential for
building a solid
domain portfolio and building a good residual income. I will spend a
little more time
going through this as its is what I am most familiar with doing. If
